Intracytoplasmic
Sperm Injection (ICSI) Micropipettes
ICSI
Micropipettes are available either angled or straight in configuration.
The shape and taper of these needles are unique in the industry,
and as a result provide for quicker movement of fluids and
spermatozoa. These needles are made from borosilicate glass stock
which is thoroughly washed with Milli-Q 18M ultrapure water
and sterilized by dry heat before tooling. Finished needles are
individually inspected for perfection of tip size and micro-spike
dimensions under 400X magnification before packaging in sterile,
toxicity tested holders.
Holding
Micropipettes
Holding
Micropipettes may be ordered in two standard size ranges in either
straight or angled configuration, depending on preference. (Custom
orders available.)
Assisted
Hatching Micropipettes
Assisted
Hatching Micropipettes are available in a standard bore diameter
of 10-15 µm, and can be ordered in either the straight or
angled configuration. They are designed for precise dissolving of
the zona pellucida and can be ordered in conjunction with acidic
Tyrodes media formulated specifically for this purpose.
Denuding
Micropipettes
Denuding
Micropipettes are available in five popular sizes and arrive 4 per
package, sterile and ready-to-use. Depending on the size ordered,
these pipettes are used for denudation of coronal cells to evaluate
fertilization status following conventional insemination, or clearance
of these cells following hyaluronidase treatment prior to ICSI.
The larger sizes are used to safely manipulate fertilized oocytes
or embryos for a variety of purposes.
Hyaluronidase
Preparation
This
formulation is designed for the safe removal of coronal cells adhering
to the zona pellucida. All components have been cell culture tested
prior to sale. This ready-to-use mixture consists of Hyaluronidase
(80u/ml) in HEPES-buffered HTF, supplemented with albumin. It is
stable for 60 days at 4-8°C, and longer if kept frozen.
Polyvinylpyrrolidone
(PVP) Solution
This
product is used to slow sperm movement as well as coat the inner
bore of ICSI Micropipettes allowing for smooth transfer of a spermatozoon
into the ooplasm. PVP is dissolved into the HTF-HEPES Plus Albumin
and is filtered through 0.8µm nitrocellulose membranes prior
to packaging. It is stable at 4-8°C for up to 60 days.
Acidified
Medium
This
media is used for local dissolving of the zona pellucida when used
with assisted hatching micropipettes. It is available ready-to-use
with a pH rangeof 2.3 - 2.5 and is stable for up to 60 days at 4-8°C.
The polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) used in the AT mixture has been culture
tested.
